Trend Micro Disk Cleanup

Trend Micro Worry Free Business Security isn't completely "Worry Free".  Like all anti-virus products it has a tendency to leave behind temporary files that will eventually lead to a very bloated Program Files directory. Lucky for us Trend released a tool to do what their developers apparently cannot:  clean the bloat.  The tool is called TMDiskCleaner.exe, and can be downloaded directly from Trend Micro here.  The tool will can be run from command line or through a GUI, either way it will clean the bloat from the following directories:

◦\AU_Data\AU_Temp\*
◦\Reserve
◦\PCCSRV\TEMP\* (except hidden files)
◦\PCCSRV\Web\Service\AU_Data\AU_Temp\*
◦\PCCSRV\wss\*.log
◦\PCCSRV\wss\AU_Data\AU_Temp\*
◦\PCCSRV\Backup\*
◦\PCCSRV\Virus\* (Delete quarantined files older than two weeks, except NOTVIRUS file)
◦\PCCSRV\ssaptpn.xxx (keep the latest pattern only)
◦\PCCSRV\lpt$vpn.xxx (keep the latest three patterns only)
◦\PCCSRV\icrc$oth.xxx (keep the latest three patterns only)
◦\DBBackup\* (keep latest two subfolders only)
◦\AU_Data\AU_Temp\*
◦\Debug\*
◦\engine\vsapi\latest\pattern\*

The syntax is simple for command line:  TMDiskClean.exe /hide /log

/hide = run silent, /log = log what it did, /allowundo = send the files to the recycle bin instead of a hard delete

We recommend you configure this tool to run as a scheduled task on the Trend Micro server as a minimum, either that or give us a call.  Our customers can simply schedule the cleanup through our management interface by searching for the procedure "Trend Micro WFBS cleanup".

Cheers,

Ray
